WHY SPSU
Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU) has been established through an Act (Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur, Act 2008) of the State Government of Rajasthan. SPSU is recognised by UGC vide Notification No: F.9-8/2009(CPP-1) dated 13 April 2009 and is empowered to award degrees as specified by the UGC under section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956. The University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The membership is granted only to the universities recognised by the UGC.
The J K Cement Nimbahera Foundation envisioned the establishment of a world-class University in Rajasthan benchmarked to international educational institutions. The Foundation constituted a think tank of eminent persons from the Industry, Science & Technology and academia who prepared the blueprint of the university. The University is committed to academic excellence, entrepreneurial spirit, diversity, vibrancy and creativity.

The campus is about 30 kms from the city on National Highway No.76. Transportation facility is provided to the staff and students as per the requirements. The university is well connected to Udaipur city by RSRTC and private bus services.

SPSU is a fully residential university. The students and staff joining SPSU are provided residence in the SPSU campus. SPSU has 6 Boys’ Hostel and 3 Girls’ hostels. The hostel rooms are available on twin-sharing basis. All the hostels and faculty residences are provided with Internet, Telephone & T.V. connectivity, R.O. water, standby power backup and security services. Common rooms with facilities such as TV, Newspapers, Magazines, table tennis board, badminton court, etc. are available in all the hostels. Laundry services are available to all the residents for clean and hygienic washing of clothes. A parlour for girls is available in the girls’ hostel.
