FIMS was established in 2015 and is promoted by the Farook College. The institute is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to the University of Calicut.
Farook College has been identified as the College with potential for excellence by the UGC and is accredited by with A grade NAAC in 2009. Farook College is the only college in Kerala to get selected by Ford Foundation, New York and received a major grant under its Project Campus Diversity Initiative.
FIMS offers an MBA programme in multiple specialisation at PG level. The institute has adopted a well-defined pedagogy with the help of various functional clubs such as Fintex (Finance Club), Markwiz (Marketing Club), Techmonks (I.T Club), Parivartan (HR Club) Open up (Social Media Club), and E-Cell (Entrepreneurship Club). Furthermore, the skill development process is ensured through 12 different clubs and cells, which are headed by the faculty.
FIMS has been awarded as the fourth-best B-School in Kerala by Business Standard Magazine, and seventh-best B-School in Kerala by Higher Education Review Magazine in 2018. Furthermore, the institute was also awarded as the fifth-best Private B-School in Kerala by Business Today Magazine in 2018.
Management Student Association (MSA) conducts several management events to sharpen the leadership, team building and soft skills in students. MSA also organises Outbound Training Programme to augment individual and group performance through experiential learning.
FIMS placement cell organises international study tour to help students with global exposure. In 2019, FIMS students visited Malaysia as part of their international tour.
FIMS is associated with various reputed industries such as CMA, CII North Chapter, Malabar Chamber of Commerce and NIPM to provide practical exposure to the students through guests lectures, projects, and industrial visits. The institute has also made academic and research collaborations with Saxion University, Netherlands.
The institute also provides a one-month long preparatory programme in subjects such as Mathematics, Communicative and Functional English, Behavioral Science and Accountancy to as an effective grooming exercise. It also offers a super specialisation programme that incorporates mobility in industry and corporate demands and is designed to ensure an in-depth study of market-specific areas. This programme is offered in three areas, namely Banking and Treasury Management, Digital Marketing, and Payroll Management.
The campus boasts of providing students with amenities such as modern classrooms and computer labs, library with more than 7000 books, 25 journals, and 20 different periodicals, canteen and cafeteria, separate hostels for boys and girls, auditorium, and indoor game facilities.

Farook Institute of Management Studies Admission Process
FIMS admission process can be completed through both online and offline mode. The application fee is Rs 750, which can be paid either in cash or through a demand draft in favour of FIMS Payable at Calicut.
